Tip of the day....

If your wondering if an egg is fresh, put it in a pan of cool, salted water. If it sinks, it is fresh-if it rises to the surface, throw it away

Microwave a lemon for 15 seconds and double the juice you get before squeezing.

When you get a splinter, reach for the scotch tape before resorting to tweezers or a needle.  Simply put the scotch tape over the splinter, and then pull it off.  Scotch tape removes most splinters painlessly and easily.

I got this tip from my Amish friend who has a beautiful perennial flower garden.  Early in the spring work Epson salts into the soil then water thoroughly.  You will see amazing results.

Store your celery in tin foil (in refrigerator)  - it will last much longer!

Put an apple in your bag of potatoes.  It will keep you potatoes from budding.
